Check-in moved with a friendly clip. I was through the desk, keys in hand, and walking toward my room before the travel fatigue could settle in. The corridor felt modern and clean — the kind of walk that already tells you housekeeping takes pride in the floors.

One thing landed better than I expected: how personal the service felt even when the event centre was buzzing. A front-desk note about my late dinner made the whole arrival feel looked after.

How the location worked for me

For my Calgary trip the campus was easy to use — park, settle, and stay put when I wanted an evening under one roof. I did not need to hop around the city to feel like I had done something.

Staff kept showing up in small ways. When I asked about evening options, the answer came with a smile and zero shrug. Guests talk about respect and top-notch service here; I felt that same warmth.

Was it worth it as a stay? Qualitatively, yes — clean rooms, sincere hospitality, and food that guests (and I) still talk about after checkout.

I would send couples celebrating something and friends who want entertainment nearby. I would not send someone hoping for a remote cabin hush with no event energy at all.
